I just blogged today about how I want to lose some weight. So this is perfect for me and just what I need! I'm excited to join Cassandra and Meredith (two blogger friends who I've never actually met in real life :) ) on this 30-day adventure.
I did a trial run today on my exercise bike. It's new and shiny and I love it. I biked for an hour and burned 400 calories. I would like to do an hour a day and burn 500, so I'll have to up my intensity. For now, I'll either bike as long as I need to to burn 500 calories, or do 400 and add something else for the extra 100.
My only concern about this is school (like Meredith). I'm a teacher and we go back on Monday. It's a lot easier to work out each day when I am not exhausted from a long day of whiny 8th graders, so it's going to be a struggle for me some days! BUT, I need something like this to motivate me.
I'm going to spend some Christmas money on a heart rate/calorie watch. Any suggestions on a good one?

The one I have is a Polar watch. It comes with the chest strap that monitors your heart rate. I believe my husband got it at Academy and I don't *think* it was much more than $100 or so. Maybe even less than that.
ReplyDeletePolar!!! Mine is a Polar heart rate monitor, and it runs about $100. It's very accurate, because it uses your stats and heart rate to determine the calories burned.
ReplyDeleteI have a nike Triax c8. I love it but it was a little on the pricey side. Just north of $100. Good Luck!
